- Film digitizing
When the films arrive, the sorting department will separate them based on their age. Films are categorized into two groups. The first group comprises all films at least 7 years old, while the other group contains the films that are more recent than this. The films will be sorted by modalities. The patient’s information will be entered into PACS and immediately validated.
Our digitizing department will pick up the films, enter the patient’s ID, scan the images, and attach them to the patient’s profile by creating a new study. The patient’s information will be reverified for the second time by the digitizing staff.
Our sorting department will pick up the digitized films and reverify the patient’s information in the PACS system for the third time, in order to assure that all the studies and films have been scanned properly. The films will then be placed back on the shelves according to the order in which they were received.
